NEW YORK and TOKYO - October 12, 2010 - Imagine Software, a leading provider of real-time portfolio and risk management solutions worldwide, today announced that SBI Ven Capital Pte Ltd selected its award-winning ASP service, Derivatives.com, for risk and portfolio management.
SBI Ven Capital Pte Ltd, a Singapore subsidiary of Japan-based SBI Holdings, Inc(“SBI”), is a private equity firm providing growth capital to companies in the mid-market sector in the Asia Pacific region. Its adoption of Imagine includes both risk and portfolio managers based in Tokyo and Singapore, trading through Shenton Structured Projects Pte Ltd (“Shenton”), SBI’s public markets proprietary desk. Their global macro strategy covers a variety of asset classes encompassing bonds, equities, FX, futures and options. Imagine stood out due to its multi-asset-class coverage and robust capabilities, from trade booking through risk management.
Kaz Makabe, Director of Shenton, commented: “The key capabilities that make Imagine’s offering so attractive are its flexibility and reliability. Imagine is a one-stop provider for portfolio and risk management that allows us to operate across all asset classes, with reliable support at a reasonable cost. For risky credit bonds, we were impressed with the way Imagine provided us with yield and sensitivity numbers, which varied with each issue’s structure. We are also looking forward to creating our own custom reports for internal as well as investor reporting requirements.”
Another reason SBI selected Imagine was the speed of implementation of its ASP service across multiple countries. The migration from their legacy system to Imagine was “Quick, easy and smooth,” said Makabe. “After the initial conversation and system evaluation, we were up and running in less than two months. Imagine was efficient, reliable, and supportive the entire time. The next step is to use Imagine to aggregate risks meaningfully across asset classes and conduct regular stress testing. The result will be a system that provides everything we need for solid and scalable risk management.”
The SBI deal is further evidence of Imagine’s continued commitment to the Asia-Pacific region. So far this year the firm has added eight major clients in five countries throughout the region, including China Merchants Securities in Mainland China.
Steven Harrison, President and COO at Imagine, said: “SBI is one of the leading private equity firms in the region, having invested in more than 600 companies to date. We are pleased that SBI has recognized the unique value that Imagine provides with its ASP service. Developed and hosted solely by Imagine since 2000, our service provides all of the powerful portfolio and risk management capabilities in one affordable, scalable and rapidly deployable package, along with comprehensive market data sourcing and management. Our all-inclusive approach makes Imagine’s ASP offering unique and has been a major factor in our on-going success, especially in the Asia-Pacific region. We are excited to be working with SBI and look forward to developing our relationship with them as they grow their business.”
